IND vs AUS 4th Test Day 3 Session 1 highlights: Follow-on scare looms over India, 244/7 at lunch

Nitish Kumar Reddy led a valiant counter-attack for India, however, Australia dominated the first session by dismissing Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, leaving India with only their last recognized batting pair. Reddy showcased his skill by scoring 40 runs off 61 balls before Lunch was called, with India at 244/7, trailing Australia by 230 runs.

Despite Reddy's strong performance, India continued to take unnecessary risks with their running between the wickets. He entered the crease early in the match after Rishabh Pant squandered a promising start by attempting to attack Scott Boland. India still found themselves behind by 280 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, took 24 balls to get off the mark before falling to Lyon in the 65th over. The responsibility now falls on India's last all-rounders to salvage the innings.

The first hour of play saw two mix-ups between the batsmen, highlighting the need for better communication on the field. As the day progressed, Australia's dominance became more evident, with three quick wickets towards the end leaving India struggling at 164/5, trailing by 310 runs. The odds now favor Australia to take a 2-1 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
