'In kafiron ko jaldi...': Former Indian cricketer's BIG revelation about Pakistan player's comment

Former Indian cricketer Mohinder Amarnath has made shocking revelations in his new memoir 'Fearless'. Mohinder recalled that Indian cricketers were given a warm welcome when they reached Pakistan for the Test series in 1978. But all the players were shocked when a Pakistani cricketer called them 'Kafir', a derogatory term for those who do not believe in Islam.
 
Mohinder said it was a foreign-educated Pakistani cricketer who commented. "An unnecessary remark by a Cambridge-educated cricketer gave us a bit of a shock," writes Mohinder. The incident occurred after in Rawalpindi. "After the match, we were a bit casual boarding the bus. Gratuitously, this cricketer said, "Bithao, bithao, in kafiron ko jaldi bithao (Board these nonbelievers quickly)," writes Amarnath.

He added, "What was the use of a good education if it could not change their negative attitude towards others?" In contrast, the cricketers received a wildly joyous reception at the Karachi airport. About 40,000-50,000 turned up to welcome the visiting team. 

Mohinder was the backbone of Team India in his time. He was the vice-captain of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. The former cricketer was also a part of the Indian squad which won the 1985 World Championship of Cricket.

In his career, he played 69 Tests in which he scored 4,378 runs. His batting saw 11 centuries in his career. Not only this, he also proved his mettle in bowling and took 32 wickets. He played an important role in the 1983 World Cup final and proved to be the Player of the Match.
