Air India's London-bound flight number AI171 crashed soon after taking off from Ahmedabad airport, killing all 242 people on board. Now, Australian legend David Warner has put out his reaction on the incident and vowed never to board the airline.
Veteran Australian batter David Warner, who has garnered immense love from Indian cricket fans over the years, has vowed not to travel with Air India after the recent plane crash that took the lives of 242 people on board on June 12. Air India's London-bound flight number AI171 departed from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport and crashed seconds after take-off, resulting in the death of 242 people on board and 33 people on the ground. David Warner took to his Instagram handle and reshared a video post from social media, wherein a user, allegedly a former Air India crew person who had pointed out issues in the aircraft.
''Hey! I'm an ex air india crew and this was a frequent aircraft that I'd fly,' the original post read. This aircraft has had issues for years. Literally years. The crew, pilots, engineers, literally everyone has always mentioned about it in the log book. But the company didn't have a spare Dreamliner for their most precious Gatwick sector. Which is why we were always made to fly this aircraft,'' the post read shared by the former Aussie batter.
Reacting to the post, he wrote, ''I would never fly @airindia ever again after this and my last interaction with them.''
David Warner recently led Karachi Kings in the recently concluded season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Before PSL, Warner also played for the Indian Premier League (IPL), and in his 184-match career, he has scored 6,565 runs with an average of 40.52, which includes 62 half-centuries and 4 centuries. He made his IPL debut in 2009 and played his last season in 2024.
Now, Warner has been signed by the Seattle Orcas for the ongoing season of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025.
