'How boring it would be': England great rates Virat Kohli as world's greatest 'showman' amid poor show

Virat Kohli has consistently stood out as one of the most dynamic personalities in the world of cricket, both on and off the field. Despite being 36 years old, he is still widely recognized as one of the greatest athletes to have ever graced the sport.

“Virat Kohli was found to have breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match.” the official statement read.

Kevin Pietersen supported the 36-year-old cricketer, stating that the game would lack excitement without players like Virat Kohli. Referring to him as a showman, the former England batsman bluntly emphasized that many players would retire after achieving only a fraction of what Virat Kohli has accomplished in his illustrious career.

“Many would end their successful international careers with a 1/4 of what he’s achieved…," he posted on X.

With the exception of his century in Perth, Virat Kohli has not been performing at his peak during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He seemed to be on track for a significant score as he built a 102-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal to stabilize the team.

Unfortunately, a miscommunication between the two players resulted in Jaiswal's dismissal, leading to a collapse in the team's performance. Shortly after, Virat Kohli himself was also sent back to the pavilion. India now faces a daunting challenge as they once again must rely on their lower middle order to salvage the match.
