CRICKET
Irfan Pathan and Sanjay Manjrekar got into a heated argument on live TV while talking about Virat Kohli's involvement in Yashasvi Jaiswal's run-out during Day 2 of the 4th Test match.
Former cricketers Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan engaged in a heated debate regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal's unfortunate run-out during the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday. Pathan believed that Jaiswal was at fault for attempting a run after hitting the ball to mid-on, while Manjrekar argued that Kohli made a 'schoolboy error' by not focusing on his partner.
The incident occurred after the conclusion of the second day's play. Manjrekar, who was participating virtually from India with his 3D image displayed alongside Pathan's live footage from Melbourne, appeared particularly agitated by the former pacer's viewpoints. The cricketer from Mumbai felt that he was not given the opportunity to express his thoughts and even went as far as saying 'Aap he boliye' (You only speak) to Pathan, who also seemed displeased by the situation.

Prior to the argument, Manjrekar had emphasized the fundamental rule in cricket that the non-striker should always keep an eye on their partner when deciding to take a run. He pointed out that Jaiswal was heading towards the non-striker's end, and Kohli's lapse in judgment resulted in the opener losing his wicket.
Manjrekar also disagreed with Kohli's claim that he did not hear Jaiswal's call, stating that the former Indian captain clearly saw his partner running towards him but still chose not to take the run. He noted that both players were eager to retain the strike for the next over, which was likely to be bowled by part-timer Mitchell Marsh.
“Just because it’s Virat Kohli, we are thinking too much from his point of view. It was a very school [boy] error that he looked behind and decided there was no single there. It’s not the non-striker’s call to make. If it was Jaiswal’s bad call, the fielder Pat Cummins would have thrown it at non-striker’s end. But because Kohli said no, Jaiswal had no chance," Manjrekar argued on Star Sports.
“Cricket’s truth is that when a ball goes to point, it’s the non-striker’s call but the striker can also say no," Pathan replied.
As Pathan spoke further, Manjrekar said: “Ok, if you don’t want to let me speak, it’s fine."
