India Vs England (Ind Vs Eng), 4th T20I Match Highlights: Stay updated with the updates of the fourth T20I match between India and England, taking place at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
The fourth T20I match between India and England is set to take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. After India secured consecutive wins in Kolkata and Chennai, England bounced back with a solid 26-run victory in the third T20I in Rajkot. With just two matches remaining in the series, every game is vital for the visitors as they aim to remain competitive and clinch their second win.
Suryakumar Yadav's team is eager to recover from the recent loss. Pacer Arshdeep Singh is expected to return to the playing XI, and there is ongoing speculation about whether the hosts will stick with four spinners. The performances of key players, including Suryakumar, will be under close observation, while Rinlu Singh might rejoin the XI after missing two matches due to injury.
As anticipation grows for the upcoming match, both teams are preparing for an intense battle on the field. Keep an eye out for what promises to be an exciting showdown between India and England at the Pune stadium.
Follow highlights from IND vs ENG 4th T20I here:
Harry Brook is out as soon as he reaches fifty, trying to scoop the ball but giving an easy catch to Arshdeep at short fine leg.
Second wicket in the over for Varun Chakravarthy! The ball was flat and quick, just outside off. Carse tried to slogsweep but ended up hitting it high on the bat, causing his timing to go awry. Rinku came in from deep mid, settled under the ball, and caught it calmly.
Duckett executes a perfect sweep against Axar and scores another four runs. He follows it up with a reverse sweep for another boundary. And another reverse sweep for four more runs. This time, he connects even better and sends the ball sailing over the boundary for a six!
Overton bowled the last over and managed to dismiss Axar Patel with the second ball. Arshdeep then sacrificed his wicket to get Dube on strike. However, Overton used the short ball effectively to finish the over, only allowing three runs to be scored.
Carse bowled a short and wide delivery to Dube, who expertly sliced it behind point for a boundary. However, Rinku was unable to handle Carse's short ball, resulting in a top edge that was caught by the fielder at deep third.
Brydon Carse steps up to bowl. Abhishek hits one past point for a single. Carse delivers a bouncer and Rinku gets a top edge, sending the ball flying past the keeper for a four. Rinku is on fire, continuing to score. He confidently steps down the track and smashes the ball over mid-wicket for another four.
England's short-ball strategy proves effective once again as Sanju Samson sends Saqib Mahmood's delivery straight to deep square leg. Another disappointing performance from the Indian opener.
England gets another wicket. Tilak Varma mishits the first ball he faces, resulting in a great low catch by Archer.
England strategically places fielders on the leg side, and Suryakumar Yadav falls right into their trap, hitting a chip shot straight to short mid-wicket.
Jofra Archer opened the day with a sharp delivery aimed at Sanju Samson's hip. His next ball was wide, but Sanju managed to slash it for a single. Archer then gave Abhishek Sharma some width, but Abhishek took advantage by lofting the ball over covers for the first six of the night. Archer is really bringing the heat today!
India (Playing XI): Sanju Samson(w), Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav(c), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravarthy
England (Playing XI): Philip Salt(w), Ben Duckett, Jos Buttler(c), Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood
Jos Buttler: We are gonna bowl first this evening. It feels like a great atmosphere already, the series is nicely set-up. Very happy with that performance, we have areas to improve but happy to get the win. Little bit unsure (about what total to chase) to be the honest with the dew, if it will come in or not. We have two changes - Mahmood for Wood, Bethell for Smith.
Suryakumar Yadav: It is all about coming here and playing good brand of cricket. Stick to the basics. We have left that game in Rajkot. Hopefully we put up an entertaining show for this crowd. Little bit on the drier, put runs on the board and defend. Arshdeep comes in place of Shami, Rinku comes in for Jurel and we have had some firepower - Shivam Dube comes in for Washington Sundar.
If he plays today, Arshdeep could make history as the first Indian to reach 100 T20I wickets. Currently, he has 98 wickets from 62 matches, and if he achieves this milestone today, he would surpass Haris Rauf's record for the fastest to 100 T20I wickets.
