PBKS vs DC Highlights, IPL 2025: Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings host Delhi Capitals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday evening.
PBKS vs DC Highlights, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025: With both the Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru dropping points against the Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Punjab Kings find themselves in a prime position to secure a top-two finish, provided they avoid any missteps against the Delhi Capitals in Jaipur on Saturday.
The last encounter between these two teams was marked by an unfortunate incident in Dharamsala, where their match was abandoned due to security concerns stemming from the escalating military conflict between India and Pakistan. The following day, the league was suspended for a week. At the time of the abandonment, the Punjab Kings were poised to post an impressive total.
Following the IPL's resumption on May 17, the Delhi Capitals faced a defeat against the Mumbai Indians, effectively extinguishing their playoff aspirations, while the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings solidified their positions as the top four teams. Now, the Capitals, likely without their captain Axar Patel, will aim to conclude the season on a high note, potentially playing the role of spoiler in the Punjab Kings' quest for a top-two finish.
Delhi Capitals needed 8 runs to win from 6 balls. Stoinis bowled a wide, reducing the target. Rizvi hit a single, making it 7 runs needed, then Stubbs added another single, leaving 5 runs from 4 balls. Rizvi then hit a six over fine-leg to secure the victory by six wickets, concluding their IPL 2025 campaign with a strong finish.
PBKS 206/8 (20)
DC 208/4 (19.3)
Arshdeep bowls his third over, facing Tristan Stubbs and Rizvi. The over starts with Rizvi hitting a single to long-off. Stubbs then has a dot ball, followed by a single to fine-leg. Rizvi adds another single by flicking the ball to deep midwicket. Stubbs hits straight to cover again without scoring, and then pulls for one more single. Arshdeep finishes the over with just four runs conceded, showcasing great bowling.
Rizvi hit an unusual shot that glanced off the top edge and sped to the boundary for a four. He then playfully flicked the ball over backward square-leg for a six. Karun managed a single by edging the ball to deep third, concluding the over.
Dubey takes a wicket by getting Atal caught out at midwicket. Sameer Rizvi comes in next, and Karun hits several boundaries, scoring four fours in quick succession: two sweeps for boundaries, a pull shot to midwicket, and a paddle shot to fine-leg.
Arshdeep bowls and Rahul manages a single to rotate the strike. Faf then adds another single. Arshdeep delivers a ball that's too full allowing Rahul to flick it for a four. After that, Rahul hits another four this time by driving the ball over covers.
Arshdeep Singh started the first over for the Punjab Kings, initially bowling well but allowing KL Rahul and Faf Du Plessis to score singles. Rahul managed a pull shot that brought him a single, while Du Plessis hit a well-timed pull for a boundary, earning four runs.
Mohit drops an easy catch at fine-leg, giving Stoinis another chance at 18 runs. However, on the next ball, Mohit catches Shreyas out at the same position. Azmatullah Omarzai comes in but is out quickly as he tries to pull a short ball and hits it straight to the fielder at deep midwicket.
Mustafizur returns to bowl and successfully gets Shashank out with a delivery that sends the ball outside the off-stump, resulting in an edge caught by the keeper. Marcus Stoinis is the next batsman. Mustafizur has a great over, conceding only four runs.
Vipraj Nigam begins his third over, with Shreyas and Wadhera mostly taking singles. A faster delivery from Nigam surprises Wadhera as it goes under his sweep attempt and strikes his pad, but there isn't much appeal from the DC players.
Vipraj Nigam starts with a short ball that Inglis hits for a six over the mid-wicket. Nigam then bowls a better length, but Inglis edges it for a four. Nigam delivers a googly next, which Inglis misses, leading to Stubbs successfully stumping him.
Mustafizur Rahman is bowling, and Prabhsimran scores his first run with a single. Priyansh then hits a double with a shot past point. Mustafizur delivers a shorter ball, Priyansh attempts a cross-bat shot gets aa top edge that Stubbs catches while running back.
Mukesh Kumar bowls the first over for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings, where Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya are the opening batsmen. Mukesh maintains his length, delivering a few dot balls. Priyansh defends the first two balls and then is judged to have faced a wide delivery. Mukesh then angles one in, which hits Priyansh on the pad, but follows up with a ball outside off that Priyansh edges for a four.

Faf Du Plessis: We will have a bowl. I think today it is 50-50. Just the make up of the side. We are playing an extra batter. It helps while chasing. It has been very frustrating. We started well. Then went on a roller coaster. We have played enough T20 cricket to understand. We played well in the last game for the first 17 overs. Then lost focus. We are playing for the fifth spot. We had our goals to get into top four.
Shreyas Iyer: Defintely happy faces. I am not satisfied and content. We want to build momentum from here. Each and every individual is performing for the team. Job half done as of now. Important to stay in the present and seize every possible chance. Inglis and Stoinis come back into the side.
