India vs New Zealand Live Cricket Score: The Men in Blue and the Blackcaps are all set to clash at the Dubai International Stadium for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title. This is the third consecutive time the Indian side has reached to the finals of the Champions Trophy.
India vs New Zealand Live Cricket Score: Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue are set to lock horns against Mitchell Santner's Blackcaps in the Final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. After clinching a semi-final game against the World Champions Australia, Team India became the first team to reach the finals. On the other hand, the Kiwis defeated the South African side to make it to the finals. Both the teams faced each other in the tournament in the league stage and the game was won by Team India convincingly. Interestingly, India has reached the finals of the Champions Trophy for the third consecutive time, lifting the trophy in 2013 and losing the final match against Pakistan in 2017. So, stay tuned to this space for all the latest and live updates about the IND vs NZ game.
India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets and lift the ICC Champions Trophy for the record third time.
With some of the hart-hitting boundaries and sixes to the Kiwis bowler, middle order batter KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are looking to finish the match early and clinch the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
New Zealand (Playing XI) - Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (WK), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (C), Nathan Smith (In for Matt Henry), Kyle Jamieson, Will O Rourke.
India (Unchanged Playing XI) - Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy.
India's star player Virat Kohli suffered a minor knee injury one day ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 Final match. Fans are worried about Kohli's fitness for an important game like today's and this question will be answered when skipper Rohit Sharma arrives for the toss.
On the other hand, New Zealand's star pacer Matt Henry, who has taken important wickets in the tournament so far, suffered a shoulder injury while fielding in the semi-final match against South Africa.
The Indian skipper, who might be leading the team in winning matches in ICC events, has been facing tough luck in the toss. He has lost 11 consecutive toss in a row. So, will Rohit be able to put an end to this unique streak in today's game?
Several reports recently claimed that skipper Rohit Sharma might take retirement from the 50-over format just like he did after clinching the T20 World Cup. Speaking on the ongoing rumours, former skipper Sourav Ganguly said, ''Why is there talk of Rohit Sharma's retirement? Why is this even a question? He won the World Cup just a few months ago. I don't know what the selectors are thinking, Rohit is playing very well.''
''India is far better than New Zealand. India played in the 2023 World Cup finals, won the 2024 T20 World Cup, and they are still unbeaten in this Champions Trophy. The same team will play,'' India Today reported quoting Sourav.
India and New Zealand have faced each other five times in the knockout stages of ICC tournaments wherein the Blackcaps have come out on top three times while the Men in Blue tasted success twice. Interestingly, India beat New Zealand in the 2000 edition of the Champions Trophy (then ICC KnockOut Trophy) in the quarterfinals but lost the game in the Final match by 4 wickets.
Both India and New Zealand have lifted the Champions Trophy in the past. While the Blackcaps clinched the inaugural tournament (then ICC KnockOut Trophy), Team India won the Champions Trophy in 2013 and shared the title with Sri Lanka in 2002.
Team India's vice-captain Shubman Gill has given an update on whether skipper Rohit Sharma is retiring or not from the 50-over format after the completion of the ongoing ICC event. Speaking at the pre-match conference, Gill said, ''No discussion in the dressing room or with me, even Rohit bhai would be thinking about the Champions Trophy final lime all of us. So, nothing like that now.''
''I think once the match ends tomorrow, he will make a decision. There is no talk about it within the setup,'' he added.
The New Zealand captain is confident of his team's ability ahead of the Champions Trophy Final. ''It's easy to say it's just another game, it's obviously not, but I think the way you approach it has to be the same. We've done a lot of good stuff this tournament, we're just trying to progress and build on the things we've been doing as a team.''
