India vs South Africa 4th T20I Highlights: India beat South Africa by 135 runs to clinch series 3-1.
India is gearing up to face South Africa in the fourth and final T20I of the series on Friday at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. With the visitors currently leading 2-1, they have a prime opportunity to clinch the series. Conversely, the best outcome for the Proteas would be to level the series at 2-2.
India secured a convincing 61-run victory in the first game, only to suffer a narrow 3-wicket defeat in the second match. However, they bounced back in the third game with a hard-fought 11-run win, reclaiming the lead in the series. The stage is now set for an exciting showdown as both teams vie for supremacy in the final T20I.
Follow highlights of India vs South Africa 4th T20I below.
Ramandeep is coming in to bowl the seventh over, replacing Arshdeep. This is his first over in international cricket. He starts off with a wide down the leg side. Then, he bowls a wide outside off, and Miller cuts it past covers for a FOUR! The over ends with just a single run scored.
Arshdeep is really showing off his skills with the ball, swinging it in both directions. His latest delivery was an outswinger to Miller. It was slightly fuller on the pads, and Stubbs attempted to hit it over midwicket. However, he ended up getting a thick outside edge, and the ball ran away for a boundary in the backward point region.
Tilak just played an incredible helicopter shot to clear the infield and scored four more runs for the team. They have now reached 200 runs together - the highest partnership ever for India in T20Is! Sanju then smashed a six over the extra cover region with a flat bat. The innings ended with a single.
Tilak smashes the ball past the point region and hustles for a risky double to reach his century! That's two centuries in a row for the 22-year-old! The next ball is wide outside off, and Tilak sweeps it past third man for a boundary. Samson then mishits a slow and short delivery, but it lands safely for a single. The next ball is outside off, right in the slot, and Tilak doesn't disappoint as he sends it sailing over long off for a massive six!
Samson is on fire! He swings and smokes the ball over the bowler's head for a massive SIX! Samson misses a fuller delivery from Coetzee, but a mix-up between two fielders gives him a second chance at life! And another one goes high in the air, only to be dropped by Maharaj! Tilak tries to pull a quick, short delivery but ends up mishitting it.
Tilak smashes his fifty with a fantastic FOUR! He expertly guides a short delivery past the point fielder to reach this milestone. The next ball is full and aimed towards the pads, and Tilak confidently slog sweeps it high for a massive SIX! Then, he faces a full toss and executes a perfect switch hit for another SIX in the third region. Absolutely incredible hitting from Tilak! To top it off, he surprises everyone by pulling off a reverse sweep on the next ball, earning himself another FOUR. Tilak is on fire today!
Samson rocks back and smashes it over deep midwicket for a massive SIX! It's in the perfect spot and it's gone out of the park! Tilak then goes down on one knee and hammers a slower ball right over the bowler's head for another SIX! India reaches 150 runs. Another slot ball, Samson stands tall and hits it for a six over the bowler's head!
Samson smashes it over extra covers for a massive SIX! Tilak, feeling cramped for space, steps forward to pull the ball but ends up getting hit on the shoulders. Tilak is down on the ground, clearly in pain. After a quick break, he's back up and ready to face the next ball. The bowler sends another short one towards Tilak's shoulders, but this time he manages to pull it off for another SIX in the fine leg region!
Tristan Stubbs comes in for Markram. Samson greets him with a massive SIX! He reaches his fifty in a stylish way! The ball was full and straight, and Samson smashed it over long on for a SIX! Then, a bit short on the pads, Samson effortlessly hits another SIX! Tilak joins in on the action, cutting a wide ball past point for a FOUR! And once more, full and outside off, Tilak elegantly lofts it over covers for another FOUR!
The ball was short and wide down the legside, making it impossible for Klaasen to reach behind the wickets. It ended up running away for a FOUR! Abhishek stepped away from the stumps, causing Jansen to adjust the length and take the pace off the ball. Abhishek managed to clear the infield, but Coetzee made a brilliant save near the boundary rope, preventing a couple of runs. Two more short balls followed, and Abhishek was beaten on both occasions. Another short ball came, and this time Abhishek pulled it for a SIX!
Samson smashes a premeditated pull over deep mid-wicket for a massive SIX! Coetzee keeps bowling short, but Samson finally gets beaten. Coetzee is sticking to his short ball tactic from the last match, but it's not working out for him. This time, he goes fuller and wide down the leg side. Samson takes advantage of a full, wide delivery outside off and plays a late cut through the point region for a boundary, FOUR!
The ball was pitched straight and angled away from the batter, taking an outside edge off Samson and narrowly missing Hendricks at slips. Samson managed to survive and get off the mark with a single. Another opportunity slipped through our fingers! This time it was Hendricks again. Jansen bowled wide outside off and full, Abhishek attempted to drive through covers but ended up edging it. The ball headed towards Hendricks at an awkward height, but he couldn't hold on to the chance.
South Africa (Playing XI): Ryan Rickelton, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram(c), Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen(w), David Miller, Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, Andile Simelane, Keshav Maharaj, Lutho Sipamla
India (Playing XI): Sanju Samson(w), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav(c), Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy
Suryakumar Yadav: We are going to bat first. We have been doing that well in the last 2-3 games and we want to stick to that. The plan has been clear from the first game. Putting runs on the board and defending is something we have been wanting to do. It is a quick turnaround, one day gap between the games but the boys are professionals. Same team.
Aiden Markram: We weren't sure. Probably leaning towards batting. We haven't put hundred percent in all three departments. We are edging towards it. We can't win the series but we pulled one back after being 1-0 down, so we can take confidence from that and try to level the series. We are going with the same team.
