Root demonstrates clever batting as he deftly guides a length delivery from Shardul Thakur down to the deep third boundary. At this moment, the England batters appear to be untroubled. Will there be another spell from Bumrah before the conclusion of the day's play?
Siraj delivers a full and straight ball with a scrambled seam. It slips past Root's inside edge and strikes him on the front pad. The umpire gives him out, but Root immediately opts for a review. There is excessive movement, and the projection indicates it would have missed the stumps. Root is safe. This adds to India's frustration.
Bumrah is now bowling his 10th over. How many more can he bowl today? A width is offered. Pope cuts the ball. Jadeja makes a diving stop at point to stop a boundary. The ball is on Root's pads. He clips it away for a single. Bumrah swings one away from Pope. It's edged andddd dropped!! Jaiswal misses the catch.

Another turn occurs as Duckett is hit on the pad, but it's well outside the off stump. He tries a reverse sweep but fails to make contact, and the ball goes down the leg side. A maiden over concludes the second session.
Siraj delivers to Pope, full and straight, and it is defended back to the bowler. A similar length follows, which is defended to mid on. An angled delivery on a length is clipped to deep square for a single. Duckett then guides one to midwicket for another single.
Siraj is bowling his sixth over. He delivers a straighter line. Pope defends using a straight bat. Siraj moves wider off the crease and angles the ball in. It strikes Pope on the pad. The umpire calls it not out, prompting India to request a review. The decision is upheld as umpire's call on hitting the stumps. It's very close!!
Prasidh continues his bowling. He comes around the wicket to Duckett, who scores his first run with a single to the leg side. A misfield by Bumrah allows Pope to hit a four. Pope then follows up with a powerful cover drive. FOUR MORE!!
