Mukesh Ambani makes BIG claim on AI as China's DeepSeek threatens US dominance: 'Use ChatGPT but...'

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has emphasised that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT cannot replace human intelligence and critical thinking. Speaking at the 12th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Ambani urged students to use AI as a learning tool but rely on their own reasoning for real progress.

“You should definitely use ChatGPT, but always remember that we can progress only through our own intelligence, not just artificial intelligence,” Ambani said. He also stressed the importance of lifelong learning, calling it essential for survival and success in today’s fast-changing world.

Ambani predicted that India will become the world’s most prosperous nation before the end of this century. However, he warned that economic growth should not come at the cost of environmental damage. He called for a faster transition from fossil fuels to clean energy to combat climate change.

“I am confident that green technologies and enterprises can reverse ecological damage and make our planet more beautiful and livable for future generations,” he said. He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India to become the world’s greenest nation.

Ambani encouraged PDEU to focus on quality research, particularly in bio-energy, which could benefit farmers and create jobs. He also emphasized the importance of the intersection between green energy, sustainable materials, and AI in shaping humanity’s future.

Meanwhile, China’s AI model DeepSeek has taken the world by surprise, topping Apple Store downloads and impacting global tech stocks. The success of this AI chatbot, developed by Chinese startup DeepSeek, has sparked economic and geopolitical concerns about AI competition between the US and China.
