Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reassured customers that the high-speed network will debut as planned.
BSNL’s much-awaited 4G and 5G services are set to launch as scheduled, bringing relief to millions of users. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has assured customers that the rollout is progressing on time, dispelling earlier concerns about potential delays.
TCS Chief Operating Officer N. Ganapathy Subramaniam confirmed that BSNL’s 4G and 5G implementation is proceeding as planned. As per Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, BSNL aims to deploy 4G services across over one lakh base stations by May 2025, with 5G services to follow in June 2025.
This assurance has provided clarity to BSNL’s customer base, which has been eagerly awaiting high-speed connectivity. TCS has guaranteed that the project will be completed within the stipulated timeline, with work progressing steadily.
The Indian government has emphasized that BSNL’s 4G and 5G networks will rely entirely on domestic infrastructure. TCS and Tejas Networks are collaborating to develop the necessary technology and infrastructure, reaffirming their commitment to delivering the project on schedule using their expertise and resources.
TCS is also engaging with both domestic and international telecom partners to ensure the seamless rollout of BSNL’s high-speed services.
Rejecting reports of delays, TCS highlighted that the contract for the 4G-5G rollout, awarded in July 2023, has a 24-month deadline. Subramaniam assured that the project is progressing at full speed and will meet its target.
TCS also hinted that BSNL may soon announce significant updates regarding its 4G and 5G services, further raising expectations among users.
If TCS successfully rolls out BSNL’s 4G and 5G networks as planned, it could pose a significant challenge to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio. The telecom giant has already faced intense competition from BSNL, particularly after Jio’s decision to increase recharge plan prices, which prompted many subscribers to switch to BSNL.
