Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-release turns theatres into stadiums, Ranbir Kapoor will break all records, film will earn..

2024 saw the trend of re-releases. This trend has now been boosted to another level as Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's iconic romantic drama Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) is back in cinemas, and it has created havoc in cinemas. Yes, Ayan Mukerji's directorial is playing in cinemas near you and filmgoers have flocked to the halls, revisiting the magic created by Bunny (Ranbir) and Naina (Deepika). 

Soon after the 2013 film started screening again, several videos from cinema halls were shared on X (formerly Twitter). People are hooting, cheering on the Bunny and Naina's introduction scene. They are dancing to the popular song Badtameez Dil, screaming on Diliwali Girlfriend. Basically, YJHD has turned theatres into stadiums, and that's a brilliant start for cinemas in 2025.

A netizen shared a video from the cinema hall, and wrote, "The last and probably the BIGGEST SUPERSTAR OF HINDI CINEMA - RANBIR KAPOOR. He's going to give a ₹6 cr opening in re-release with '#YehJawaaniHaiDeewani'..!! Just have a look at the craze in cinemas even after 11 years." Another netizen wrote, "Ranbir Kapoor's craze is unmatched when it comes to this generation of actors!"

As far as box office collection is concerned, several trade analysts predicted that YJHD score the biggest opening for a re-released film. There are reports that YJHD will easily open between Rs 3-6 crores. 

About Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

YJHD was Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's second film together after Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), alongside Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. With a production budget of Rs 40 crore, the film collected Rs 180 crores worldwide. With the re-release, the film will easily cross Rs 200 crore mark.

Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja tweeted, "#RanbirKapoor and #DeepikaPadukone all set to score yet another 200 Crore Club film with #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani. In its original run the film had netted 189 crores and emerged as a BLOCKBUSTER. Now with a solid start on its rerun, it will comfortably amass at least 11 crores more and in the process go past the 200 crores mark."
