Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma's playful and affectionate dynamic was on full display during the 2016 promotions of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Their lighthearted and humorous exchanges showcased the strong bond they share. In one memorable conversation, Ranbir Kapoor shared an amusing anecdote, revealing that a fellow Bollywood actor had developed feelings for Anushka Sharma, only to be politely rebuffed by the actress.

In a candid conversation, Ranbir playfully exposed Anushka that she was the ultimate "champion" of friend-zoning people. He even spilled that one of Anushka's actor friends had fallen for her, but she had skillfully relegated him to the friend zone. Ranbir dropped a bombshell, revealing "There's a guy who didn't understand that Anushka is just a friend. I know someone who developed romantic feelings for her, but she made it clear that she only values their friendship." He added with a sly smile, "All I'll say is that this person also has the surname Kapoor." And Anushka was left stunned and speechless by Ranbir's cheeky revelation. However, later it was revealed that the actor in question was Arjun Kapoor.

Anushka, however, maintained her composure and offered a reflective insight into her upbringing, which imparted her a unique perspective on relationships. "I actually come from an army background. So, what happens is... we didn't have just girls as friends. We used to play with kitchen sets and other things together. It wasn't like that. So, we used to play with boys." In a way, Anushka explained her neutral and equal approach to friendships without any gender distinction.

Meanwhile, Anushka is married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The couple has two kids–daughter Vamika and a son Akaay Kohli.Ranbir, on the other hand, is married to actress Alia Bhatt and they have a daughter, Raha Kapoor.
