During his penultimate concert at Guwahati in the ongoing Indian leg of the Dil-Luminati Tour 2024, Diljit Dosanjh urged the youth including himself to learn good etiquettes from the late former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who has been scooping adulation across the world courtesy his live shows, dedicated his recent show in Guwahati to the former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Udta Punjab actor performed at the Sarusajai Sports Complex at his penultimate concert in Guhawati in the ongoing Indian leg of the Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 on Sunday.
Dosanjh took to his Instagram on Sunday, and shared a video from his show. In the video, the actor-singer paid a moving tribute to the former PM, and said that Manmohan Singh was a man of grace, who always conducted himself in a sophisticated manner, and never answered anyone in an uncivilised manner.
He said, "Today's concert is dedicated to former late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He led a very simple life. He never used to answer back or talk ill which is quite immpossible in a profession like politics." He also added, "Manmohan Singh was the first Sikh who had his signature imprinted on the Indian currency." Diljit concluded his tribute with a shayari once used by the former PM, as he stated, "Hazaron jawabon se meri khamoshi acchi, naa jane kitne sawalo ki aabru dhak leti hai." The superstar urged the youth including himself to learn such etiquettes from him.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, who served as the 13th Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014, passed away on December 26 at the age of 92. He had also served as the Governor of Reserve Bank of India and the Union Finance Minister earlier. In his funeral in Delhi on Saturday, Singh received full state honours in a ceremony that included a 21-gun salute.
Meanwhile, Diljit is set to end his Indian leg of the Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 in Ludhiana on December 31. He began his India tour from Delhi in October. After the national capital, the Lover singer performed in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Mumbai.
