'Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma see God in each other': Harshdeep Kaur REVEALS key details about Virushka's wedding song

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, one of Bollywood's most beloved couples, got married in Italy in a fairytale wedding in 2017. Their wedding, to this date, remains the talk of the town. One of the highlights from the grand ceremony was their wedding song, Peer Vi Tu, sung by Harshdeep Kaur. The song was written and sung, keeping in mind Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's feelings for each other. 

In a recent interview with The Music Podcast, Harshdeep Kaur said, "I was part of their wedding song ‘Peer Vi Tu’ that was released on their anniversary. I got the brief that it is a love song and that the song’s lyrics are what Virat and Anushka feel for each other — that they see god in each other. Vishal Punjabi was directing it and he said, ‘Bus yahi feeling chahiye (I want this feeling). Just feel these words and sing.’"

Anushka Sharma, speaking about her wedding, said in an interview with Filmfare in 2019, “We wanted to keep it genuine. We didn’t want it to be adulterated and touched by anything that would remind us that we’re celebrities. We were with our parents and our siblings, who’ve sacrificed so much for us, our closest friends, who’ve supported us through our worst."

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been married for seven years now and are parents to two kids, Vamika and Akaay. The couple welcomed their daughter, Vamika Kohli, in January 2021. Their son, Akaay Kohli, was born last year in February.
