He revealed he is still struggling to find consistent work opportunities. “ Even back then, I was struggling, and I am still struggling today. Alia is a fantastic actor, but when you get an opportunity at the right time, things change for you," he said.
Vineet Kumar Singh recently opened up about the struggle he faces despite being part of the industry for over two decades. In his latest interaction, the Mukkabaaz actor took a sly dig at Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter and now superstar Alia Bhatt, reminiscing how she used to sit on the filmmaker’s lap at the time he struggled. He compared the old times to the current one inferring that Alia has become a star, and he is still struggling, sparking nepotism debate.
Recalling his experience working with Mahesh Bhatt on Dhoka, Vineet said, There was a phase in between when, for a year, I had gone to Banaras. I couldn’t understand why. It had been quite some time, seven or eight years, and nothing significant was happening. We were heading to shoot, I think, in Udaipur. At that time, Alia used to sit in Mahesh Bhatt sir’s because she was very young,” he said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble.
Further, he revealed he is still struggling to find consistent work opportunities.“ Even back then, I was struggling, and I am still struggling today. Alia is a fantastic actor, but when you get an opportunity at the right time, things change for you. I’ve said this before as well, but timing is everything," he added. He concluded by saying that Alia works very hard, and also praised her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s work. He also expressed his philosophical outlook on the industry, stating that as an actor, he has immense respect for his peers.
For the unversed, Vineet earned recognition with the role of boxer Shravan Kumar Singh in Anurag Kashyap's 2018 Mukkabaaz. He was also part of films like Saand Ki Ankh and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl among others. Up next, he will be seen in Jaat and Superboys of Malegaon.
