Salim Khan opens up about his relationship with his wives Salma Khan and Helen: 'We had problems but...'

Veteran filmmaker and superstar Salman Khan's father Salim Khan in the recent docu-series titled Angry Young Men not only opened up about his professional journey in the film industry but also gave a peek into his personal life involving his wives Salma Khan and Helen. Salim Khan married Salma Khan and later fell in love with Helen and married her. The Khan family, over the years, has blended together and lived as one big happy family. In an interview, Salim Khan once shared, "I’m lucky that I have two wives and that they live in harmony. Never mind if that happened a few years later. My wives are good-looking and now they are aging gracefully."

In another interview with Zoom, Salim Khan also revealed how he was the first one to tell Salma Khan about his relationship with Helen. "When I told her, she didn’t shake hands with me and told me what a wonderful thing I was doing. Of course, we had problems, but for a very short time. After that, everything was accepted," Salim Khan said. 

Speaking about how his children reacted to the same, Salim Khan said, "I told them 'I have got another person in my life. I have married her. I do not expect anything from you. I don’t expect you to love her as much as you love your mother, but I want you to give her the same respect'." 

Salim Khan was married to Salma Khan in 1960. They had four children together- Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Alivira Khan Agnihotri. Salim Khan had his second marriage with Helen in the 1980s and adopted Arpita Khan.
