Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was brutally attacked at his Mumbai home, is on the road to recovery. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital, where Khan underwent emergency surgery, said he is expected to be discharged in two to three days.

The 54-year-old actor suffered multiple stab wounds, including on his neck and near the spine, during the attack at his Bandra residence on January 16, 2025. Despite the severity of his injuries, Khan is making rapid progress.

"We are observing his progress, and he is doing excellently well according to our expectations," said Dr. Nitin Dange, a neurosurgeon at Lilavati Hospital. "As per his progress, we have advised him bed rest, and if he is comfortable, then in two to three days we will discharge him."

Khan has been shifted out of the ICU and is now walking and on a normal diet. In a recent press conference, his doctors revealed that he has been moved to a special room after showing signs of improvement. In a heartening update, it has been revealed that Khan asked his doctors two questions after regaining consciousness. According to a report by Aaj Tak, Khan inquired if he would be able to resume shooting and hit the gym again.

Meanwhile, Khan’s team revealed that the attacker allegedly attempted to burglarize the actor's residence before launching a violent assault around 2:30 am. Newly obtained footage shows the suspect entering the building with a concealed face and carrying a bag. In a related development, the police have taken a statement from Kareena Kapoor, Khan's wife. The police are still searching for the attacker, who stabbed Khan during a robbery attempt at his 12th-floor apartment. More than 30 teams have been formed to track down the culprit.
