Recently director Guddu Dhanoa, who directed Priyanka in Big Brother and Kismet, revealed how Big Brother was supposed to be her first film, and she was almost thrown out of it. While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Guddu recalled shooting Big Brother with her in Hyderabad. He said that Chopra would request them to explain how to enact a scene as she didn’t know much about acting. “She would say, ‘Please explain to me, how do I do it.’ It means she has a hunger to learn, she had it at that time, she wanted to do it, wanted to do it very well, and her looks were also good,” Guddu said.
The Ziddi director further said that after a 'very good' schedule, Dhanoa started getting calls from Mumbai, receiving negative feedback about the actress, "After we shot for 15-20 days we started getting reports from Mumbai that she looks very bad, she is a very bad actor, please watch the rushes. So, I said okay, we will watch the rushes.'”
According to the director, Priyanka was almost considered to be thrown out of the film, but Sunny Deol, who was also the producer of the film, confidently decided to complete the film with Chopra. "We saw the rushes, whatever we had shot there, however much we had shot, and after watching the rushes, Sunny Deol and I, both of us decided that we will work with this girl and complete the film with this girl only. And I think we liked her; I mean we liked her screen presence, and we liked her as an actor too. We thought she would grow, and we were right. She later grew a lot as a person and actor." On the work front, she was last seen in the film Love Again, and the series Citadel. Priyanka will soon be seen in Heads of State and The Bluff.
