The actor we are talking about started his journey in supporting roles but later became a star in Bhojpuri cinema. He is now called the Amitabh Bachchan of Bhojpuri cinema and lives an uber-luxurious life. He is none other than Ravi Kishan.

Ravi Kishan is celebrating his 55th birthday today (July 18). The actor was born in Jaunpur but his family later moved to Mumbai. He used to live in a chawl. His father ran a milk dairy in Mumbai. But suddenly his business started going into loss and eventually, he decided to return to Jaunpur with his family. While Ravi Kishan's father wanted him to become an officer, he decided that he wanted to try his luck in acting. 

After completing his 12th, Ravi Kishan decided to move to Mumbai to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor and he reached Mumbai with only 500 rupees from his mother and started looking for work. In an interview, the actor said that he used to live in a room with 12 people in the chawl during his struggling days. He finally got his break in the Bollywood film Pitambar, and after this, he appeared in the television show Hello Inspector. 

However, these didn't get him the recognition he was looking for. He then starred in the Bhojpuri film Saiyan Hamar and the film made him a star overnight. He then went on to give several hits and blockbusters in Bhojpuri cinema including Banke Bihari M.L.A, Ganga, Gabbar Singh, Ram Pur Ke Lakshman, and more, and has become a megastar in Bhojpuri cinema like Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood. 

Ravi Kishan has also been a part of several Bollywood hits including Tanu Weds Manu, Phir Hera Pheri, Tere Naam, and more. His recent performances in Mission Raniganj and Lapaataa Ladies have been highly praised by the audience. Not only this, his hit series Maamla Legal Hai has been renewed for season 2 and fans can't wait to watch him back as a lawyer.

Apart from being an actor, Ravi Kishan is also a politician. He has been MP from Gorakhpur for the last two consecutive terms and according to his recent election affidavit, he has a whopping net worth of Rs 36 crore. Not only this, the actor, who once lived in a chawl, now owns 11 houses which are from Mumbai to Gorakhpur and their worth is in crores. These include flats in Mumbai's Andheri West, flats in Pune's Sky Viman Nagar, Mumbai's bungalows in Jogeshwari, flats in Oshiwara, flats in Mumbai's Goregaon West, Gorakhpur and Jaunpur.
