In 2025, attention will be on the families of some of cinema's most prominent figures, as many are preparing for their grand entrance into the film industry. From Ibrahim Ali Khan to Shanaya Kapoor and Rasha Thadani, there's already considerable excitement surrounding these new faces.

However, a fresh name has recently surfaced, causing even more anticipation among movie enthusiasts. This newcomer is Simar Bhatia, ready to debut in a highly awaited film alongside Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.

Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece, will appear in Ikkis in 2025. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is inspired by the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a war hero who was posthumously honored with the Param Vir Chakra for his courageous actions during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. In the movie, Simar Bhatia will star alongside Agastya Nanda. The combination of these young talents, both coming from prominent legacies, has sparked curiosity about the impact they will have on-screen.

Akshay Kumar, clearly proud of his niece, posted a heartfelt message on social media ahead of her debut. He took to Instagram to share a photo of a newspaper featuring Simar Bhatia. He wrote, “I remember the first time I saw my photo on the cover of the newspaper. I thought that’s the ultimate happiness. But today I know the happiness of seeing your child’s photo here beats everything. I wish my mom was here today and she would have said ‘Simar puttar Tu tah Kamaal hai (Dear, Simar, you have done wonders)’. Bless you my baby, the sky is yours.”

For those unfamiliar, Simar Bhatia is the daughter of Akshay Kumar's sister, Alka Bhatia. Alka, who tends to stay out of the limelight, is a recognized film producer married to the real estate magnate Surendra Hiranandani. Simar, who has been steadily building her presence on social media, now has more than 11.7K followers on Instagram.
