Nitanshi recently opened up about her enriching experience working with director Kiran Rao in Laapataa Ladies.
Nitanshi Goel left an indelible mark not just on the Indian audience but abroad as well with Laapataa Ladies, which became India's official entry for Oscars 2025. With her role as Phool Kumari, she won over the hearts of the audience with her innocence. Recently, she opened up about her enriching experience working with director Kiran Rao. She also revealed a scene she improvised that left everyone on set in tears.
In a recent interview, Nitanshi shared how she improvised a scene that moved the entire crew to tears.”The scene in the film where Phool breaks down inside the public toilet at the railway station was completely improvised. I told Kiran ma'am that Phool is vulnerable and I believe she should cry. She asked me to follow my gut, and that I did. And after we shot that scene, everyone was crying and clapping!” she told Free Press Journal.
Further, she also revealed how Kiran used to address on the set. “She used to call me her 'instinctive actor' and sometimes, her 'one-take artist'. She would ask me to do whatever I felt like in the moment while shooting for a particular scene. Half of the time she would not even cut the shot because she would know I'd do something more, which was not in the script,” she added.
Before her silver screen debut, Nitanshi worked in a range of TV shows, series, and commercials, including notable appearances in Thapki Pyaar Ki, Peshwa Bajirao, and Inside Edge 2. She is also a trained Kathak dancer and singer. Born on June 12, 2007, in Delhi to parents Nitin Goel and Rashi Goel, Nitanshi's early start in the entertainment industry paved the way for her promising career. She has undoubtedly emerged as a rising star to watch in Indian cinema.
