Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja breaks silence on Varun Dhawan's comparison with her husband: 'Usko bhi toh kharaab...'

Govinda and David Dhawan’s collaboration has delivered some of the most iconic comedies in Bollywood. Their partnership also contributed significantly to each other’s success. David Dhawan’s son Varun Dhawan has now taken charge of carrying forward his legacy in Bollywood. He has taken on roles that pay homage to his father's style of comedy, while also showcasing his own versatility as an actor. However, the actor has often been compared to Govinda and Salman Khan, especially with his films, Main Tero Hero and Judwaa 2. 

Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja recently weighed in on the subject, revealing that Varun grew up watching Govinda collaborate with his father, David Dhawan, on numerous films. As a result, it's only natural that this exposure might have influenced Varun's acting style, resulting in the noticeable resemblance between the two actors.  “Jo aadmi bachpan se, dekh dekh ke… uske dad (David Dhawan) ki 17-18 pictures ki hai Govinda ne. Toh naturally thoda toh aa jaaega na. Bachpan se chulbula bacha tha vo. (The man who has seen Govinda work with his dad in 17-18 movies. Naturally, a little resemblance might be there. Since childhood, Varun has been a happy-go-lucky child.),” she told Pinkvilla. 

Further, Sunita expressed her confusion and concern over the constant comparisons being made between Varun and Govinda. “Bolte hai, compare karte hai but kyun bolte hai mereko ye samajh me nahi aata hai. Usko bhi toh kharaab lagta hoga na k mujhey Salman se compare karte hai, Chi-Chi bhaiya se karte hai but I don’t understand karte kyun ho. (People compare him but I don’t understand why they do so. He would also feel bad for being compared to Salman Khan and Chi-Chi bhaiya.)” she added. 

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is currently filming for Shashank Khaitan's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Additionally, he has been roped in for a pivotal role in the highly-anticipated war film Border 2 which boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
