BOLLYWOOD
The actress in question was often compared to Madhuri Dixit due to her striking resemblance to the Bollywood diva.
Many actresses gained fame in Bollywood by captivating audiences with their talent. While rising to stardom in the industry might seem simple, sustaining that fame is often much more difficult.
There are examples of actresses like Ayesha Takia and Bhagyashree, who achieved great success but quickly faded from the limelight. Similarly, another actress, who delivered hit films alongside major superstars, eventually struggled to maintain her place in the industry and chose to leave it for good.
The actress in question was often compared to Madhuri Dixit due to her striking resemblance to the Bollywood diva. She made a huge impact in the industry but then suddenly disappeared. Just when she was at the peak of her career, she chose to step away from the spotlight and live a life away from the glamour. Her name is Farheen Khan.
Farheen entered the film industry with her debut movie Jaan Tere Naam in 1992, starring alongside Ronit Roy, and became an overnight sensation. Her curly hair and striking features led many to compare her to Madhuri Dixit. In no time, Farheen became a sought-after actress for filmmakers during the '90s. She went on to star in several films like Meri Aan, Dil Ki Baazi, Kalaignan, and more. Over the years, she worked with some of the biggest names in Bollywood, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, and Kamal Haasan.
Did you know that Farheen once turned down a role in a film starring Shah Rukh Khan, which eventually became a huge hit? The film that we are talking about is Baazigar.
The actress in an interview had said, “I turned down Baazigar opposite Shah Rukh as the dates clashed with a film I was doing with Kamal Haasan. After Kalaignan, I was flooded with offers from the South, and I accepted them. Then in ’94, I met Manoj.”
Farheen made the surprising decision to leave the film industry at the height of her career. After marrying, she chose to step away from the limelight and focus on her personal life.
She found love with former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar, and the two got married. Following their wedding, Farheen opted to distance herself from Bollywood. Despite her absence from films, she stays connected with her fans through social media, frequently sharing updates about her life.
