Emergency vs Azaad box office collection day 5: 2025 has not taken a great start, and the dull phase of the box office continues as both big releases, Kangana Ranaut's Emergency and Aaman Devgan, Rasha Thadani, and Ajay Devgn-starrer Azaad are heading to become big commercial failures. 

The trade tracking portal Sacnilk posted the estimates for the fifth day, and both films are struggling to earn in single digits only. Till now, Emergeny is racing ahead of Azaad, but both films are underperforming at the box office. 

Emergency box office update 

As Sacnilk reported, Emergency collected Rs 1 crore only on Tuesday, earning Rs 12.40 crores in five days. Kangana Ranaut's directorial have earned critical praise, but it has not converted into footfalls. 

Azaad box office update

As per the trade tracking portal, Aaman Devgan, Rasha Thadani's debut film trail Emergency. The movie is on the verge of becoming a commercial disaster. Azaad has fallen further and is now collecting in lakhs. On Tuesday, Azaad collected Rs 50 lakhs only, taking the five days total to Rs 5.75 crore only. 

Kangana Ranaut's Emergency release halted in Punjab? 

Emergency has been caught up in controversy after Sikh organisations, including the Shiromani Akali Dal, accused the film of misrepresenting the community and getting facts wrong. Since its release, the Kangana Ranaut directorial is facing hurdles in Punjab and has seen a very limited release in the state.

The Kangana Ranaut-starrer marks her solo directorial debut after she shared directing credits with Krish Jagarlamudi for the 2019 biographical historical action drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, in which the National Award-winning actress portrayed the Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi.

Abhishek Kapoor on Azaad's failure 

Director Abhishek Kapoor (Rock On, Kedarnath) penned a note after the film faced rejection from the masses. A part of Abhishek Kapoor's note read, "Sapne hit ya flop nahi hote, sakaar hote hain. The story of #Azaad is one I truly believed in and it is a dream accomplished to have brought it to life. I would like to wish my young talents Rasha and Aaman the very best on their journey ahead."
