Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is one of the top actors in he industry today, impressed millions with his films like The Lunchbox, Gangs of Wasseypur, Kahaani, and Sacred Games.

However, the actor in his recent interview said he faced discrimination in the industry because of his looks. In a new interview with News18, Nawazuddin called himself the ugliest Bollywood star and said, "“Pata nahi shakalo se humari nafrat kyun hai kuch logon ko. Kyunki shakal hee aisi hai – itne badsurat hai humlog. Humein bhi lagta hai jab apne aap ko aaine mein dekhte hai. Hum bhi bolte hai apne aap ko ‘kyun aa gaye film industry mein itne gande shakal leke?’ (I don’t know why some people hate the way we look. Maybe it’s because we’re just that ugly. Even I feel it when I look at myself in the mirror. I question why I came into the film industry with such a bad appearance)."

He further added, “I’m the ugliest actor – physically – in the film industry. Main toh yeh maanta hoon. Kyun ki main shuru se yeh sab sunte aa raha hoon aur abhi maanne bhi laga hoon (I have been hearing it for so long that I’ve started to believe it. I have no complaints about the film industry)."

Earlier, in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Nawazuddin Siddiqui admitted smoking marijuana in his youth and called it a mistake. He said, "I had the company of some people, who would smoke up so even I ended up doing that. I realised later that… I don’t want to promote it, I have made mistakes but its benefit was that jo travelling milti thi usmein, bada maza aata tha (the high you’d get in that was a lot of fun). But I do not want to promote it at all, it was our mistake and I want to apologise for that."

He further recalled trying bhaang multiple times, especially during Holi. He revealed that after consuming it, he used to feel the 'biggest actor in the world' and said, "I would think people are my audience, and the world my stage. So, I would perform! I would sometimes be Ashwatthama, Karn, Krishna and perform for hours. Because you get into a loop, so I would perform from morning to night. Later when its effect would subside, people would tell me, ‘Paagal ho gaya kya hai tu? You have been repeating the same dialogue all day! I would go to parks, perform in buses, wherever."

On the work front, Nawazuddin's latest appearances include the OTT release Haddi on Zee5. His most recent film, Rautu Ka Raaz, also premiered on Zee5 on June 28. Directed by Anand Surapur, this mystery drama features Atul Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar, and Narayani Shastri in significant roles.
