Baby John: Fans laud Salman Khan's 'tremendous' cameo in Varun Dhawan film, say 'Rohit Shetty needs to learn...'

Though the audiences missed Salman Khan on the big screen this year, the superstar made a cameo in two of the most anticipated films this year. The first was Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, in which fans were disappointed to see how their much loved star was wasted in just a three-second appearance. The second has hit the screens on Christmas, Varun Dhawan-starrer Baby John. 

In a post-climax sequence, Salman shows up as Agent Bhai Jaan and saves Varun and his leading lady Wamiqa Gabbi from gangsters. After finishing the villains with Varun, the duo engage themselves in a fun banter and break the fourth wall wishing the audiences Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Diwali, Eid Mubarak, and other Indian festivals.

The audiences have loved Salman's cameo in Baby John and called it one of the major highlights of the film. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Varun Dhawan shines in this Theri remake. It's a Varun Dhawan show all the way. The Salman cameo in the end is superb. Kalees and Atlee thank you for presenting this. Spectacular BGM by Thaman. Total mass entertainer", while another wrote, "Varun Dhawan's Baby John is a great film, and Keerthy Suresh & Wamiqa Gabbi have done a great job, Baby John is only Varun Dhawan's show. Directed by Kalees, Baby John is adapted from Atlee's 2016 Tamil hit Theri. Theri featured Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson in the leading roles. Salman's cameo is also being seen as the first step towards Salman and Atlee's collaboration in the director's next film, which is yet to be announced officially. After delivering the Rs 1000-crore blockbuster Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan last year, Atlee has become one of the most sought after filmmakers in India.
