Baby John box office collection: Varun Dhawan's film crashes on second day, suffers more than 50% drop, earns only...

Baby John box office collection Day 2: After making a decent start at the box office, Varun Dhawan's actioner, Baby John crashed on its second day. The mixed word of mouth has impaced the film, and thus the film suffered a more than 50% drop on Thursday. The trade tracking portal Sacnik shared the data of the second day, and it's shocking. 

As per the Sacnilk, Baby John has crashed down, earning Rs 3.47 crores only on Thursday. The film collected Rs 11.25 crores on Wednesday, and with Thursday's collection, the two-day collection stands at Rs 14.72 crores only. The drop on a working day was evident, but due to the mixed response, the film dropped more than 50%, and that's a dangerous sign for the movie. 

Trade expert Taran Adarsh also admitted that Baby John is underwhelming. Despite the trend, with the names of Varun Dhawan, Atlee, Keerthy Suresh, and the tag of Thalapathy Vijay's remake, Baby John opened on an average note, collection only Rs 11.25 crores. He wrote, "#BabyJohn faced stiff competition from #Pushpa2 [in mass circuits] and #Mufasa [in urban centres], which impacted its opening day biz... It's worth noting that #Pushpa2 continues to be a mighty opponent for all films."

He further wrote, "A midweek release coinciding with a major holiday typically ensures a strong opening day... However, #BabyJohn must sustain its momentum till Sunday to achieve a respectable extended weekend total." Baby John is Varun's biggest opening in the last five years. Before Baby John, multi-starrer Kalank earned Rs 21.60 crore on its opening day in 2019.
