Baby John box office collection day 5: Varun Dhawan film finally sees some growth in opening weekend, earns Rs...

Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff-starrer Baby John was released in cinemas on December 25 on Christmas. The highly anticipated film, which also had Salman Khan making an action-packed cameo in the post climax scene, has failed to attract audiences to the theatres.

Baby John film earned Rs 24 crore net in India in its first four days. After seeing a decline in its collection for three days, the action thriller finally saw a jump in its earnings on Sunday. As per the early estimates from the box office tracking portal Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 4.60 crore on its fifth day. This is more than its Saturday earnings of Rs 4.25 crore, but the growth is just minimal.

The Kalees directorial is an official remake from the 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri, which starred Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson and Mahendran in the leading roles. As Theri is highly popular in the North belt and its dubbed Hindi version is streaming for free on YouTube, Baby John has been completely rejected by the audiences.

Baby John is facing stiff competition from Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule and the Hollywooda animated musical Mufasa: The Lion King. While Pushpa 2 continues to dominate even after breaking several box office records, Mufasa has emerged as the first choice for the kids in this festive season.

Coming back to Baby John, the Varun Dhawan-starrer also features Rajpal Yadav, Zara Zyanna, Sheeba Chaddha, Omkar Das Manikpuri, and Jaffer Sadiq in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Kalees and backed by Atlee and Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande under their banners A For Apple Studios, Cine1 Studios, and Jio Studios.
