US President-elect Donald Trump, during a speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, promised to take swift actions on several key issues upon assuming office. He vowed to "stop the transgender lunacy" from the start of his presidency, stating that he would sign executive orders to ban transgender people from serving in the military and prevent transgender-related issues in schools. 

Trump also declared that the official stance of the US government would recognise only two genders, male and female, and pledged to keep men out of women's sports.

Trump’s remarks were part of a broader speech in which he promised immediate measures to tackle various challenges facing the country. He emphasised his plan to combat migrant crime, vowed to label drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, and expressed a desire to reclaim control of the Panama Canal. 

Trump also spoke on his plans to end the war in Ukraine and stop the chaos in the Middle East, although he did not provide specific details on how he would achieve these goals.

Transgender rights have been a big issue in US politics, with states divided over policies such as gender-affirming medical treatments and the availability of related books in schools. Last week, Congress approved a defense budget that blocked funding for gender-affirming care for transgender children of service members.

Trump concluded his speech by stating that under his leadership, America would experience a "golden age" of prosperity and national greatness, marking a clear departure from the previous years of what he described as failure and national decline.
