For some unexplained reasons, we often tend to take bullying with a grain of salt unless it leaves seemingly grave effects on the victim. A woman recently shared a heartfelt note online and opened up on how her little brother got reportedly bullied and harassed in his new school- Mumbai's Mahim.

At first, she expressed her regret, having failed to identify it in the first place. As per the post, the woman's 14-year-old brother joined as a newcomer to Mumbai's Mahim. The class 8th student used to tell her about the bullying he had to face in the school. However, she took it lightly. It was only after her father handed her a letter penned down by the brother that she realised the disturbing reality.

In her note, the woman expressed her regret and said that she had taken the matter lightly, being unaware of the fact that "boys get harassed too".

"I failed as a sister. He took admission in this new school in Mahim. Everytime he used to tell me about something related to school and how the kids in this new school are weird (chapri) & use curse words i used to ignore him. This morning dad handed me a letter wrote by brother to his principal. At first i thought it was about the mockery he made out of his grammar & till the end i couldnt believe what i read n cried", she writes.

Further, she also shared a picture of the letter written by her brother, in which, he had mentioned "being touched in bad places" and getting "hit" by a senior student.

Shared on Reddit, the post has pulled more than 1K upvotes, with users expressing their views on the same.

Here's how netizens reacted

"I’m hoping the authorities took action based on this letter. Also kudos to him for writing this. Bad grammar or not, this takes guts", an user wrote.

Another user commented, "Make it a larger matter, try getting an appointment with the principal and bring this up. No child needs to face this shit from anyone. Doesn’t matter what board of education any child is in, this shit needs to stop".

A third shared their own experience and wrote, "Yes I was bullied in all boys school. Effects of bullying are forever. Please protect him. Make him join self defence martial arts classes so he can learn to kick ass. Don't let him continue to suffer."
