Watch: Indonesian girls dance on 'Aaj ki raat' as local artist sings, video goes viral

Hindi songs have been going viral outside India for a long time and these days at a time when digital content and social media influencing is dominating the world, the craze of Hindi songs have reached another level.  

A video surfaced on social media platform Instagram two days ago shows Indonesian girls in their traditional attire dancing on the song, ‘Aaj ki raat’ from the recently released Bollywood movie Stree 2. The video amazes people in various aspects. Another interesting side of this video is that the girls are not dancing on the recorded song but only on the music of the film while the lyrics are being sung by an Indonesian artist Taufiqur Rahman. Taufiqur Lida, as he is popular on Instagram, sings the song beautifully in an original Hindi accent that can confuse anyone not knowing his non-India decent. The artist has another unusual talent of singing Hindi songs in both make and female voice simultaneously. On his Facebook profile he has posted videos of him singing songs like 'Koi mil gaya' from the movie 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in the male voice and 'Bole Chudiyan' from 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam' in a pure female voice that has impressed Indian so much that one of them wrote on his FB post, "Nice singer bro come to indian ideal." Many Indians have sent "love from India." Most of Lida's videos showcases him singing Hindi songs while young girls dancing on them.

Taufiqur is a digital creator and an MC from Medan, Indonesia. His voice and ability to sing Hindi songs likens him to Hindi song artists. The video showcases Indonesian girls dancing beautifully and matching almost similarly to the original dance steps. The whole performance leaves viewers in awe. The video has amazed and entertained so many viewers who have greatly applauded the performance.  

“Beautiful singing beautiful dance....free from vulgarity,” wrote one user. Another one wrote, “Smooth dance and clean dressed up.” “Brother fan ho gay apke.... shahrukh k song bhi acche sing krte ho...or apki chotte baccho ki dance performance gajab hai”, “My best favorit sanggar.” 

Fans have been requesting Taufiq to sing their favorite songs in videos that have gone viral on Instagram. Taufiq claimed that his performance of an Indian song at a Jakartan wedding was the reason for his initial rise to fame. Taufiq posted the video to social media after his friend captured it on camera.
