Jaya Kishori, a renowned spiritual orator and motivational speaker, is encouraging young people to attend the Maha Kumbh at Sangam to experience peace, happiness, and bliss.
Jaya Kishori, a renowned spiritual orator and motivational speaker, is encouraging young people to attend the Maha Kumbh at Sangam to experience peace, happiness, and bliss. Sharing her personal experience, Kishori described her first dip in the Sangam as "surreal" and felt blessed to participate in the "Amrit Snan" ritual .
Jaya Kishori admitted to feeling anxious and excited before taking the sacred bath, but as soon as she immersed herself in the water, her nerves disappeared. She described the experience as profoundly calming, filling her with a positive energy that she believes is what every young person strives for.
Kishori opined that the youth in today’s time want happiness on a permanent basis. She said, “What we call in our shastras, anand; not maza or masti, anand. If you want that, please attend these kinds of things ... You will find something very different, but a very positive and enriching experience.”
The largest gathering of devotees in the world, the Mahakumbh 2025 began on January 13 and will continue till February 26. The Maha Kumbh, occurring every 12 years, attracts millions seeking spiritual purification through a sacred dip, believed to cleanse sins and souls. This year's 45-day celebration is anticipated to draw a staggering 45 crore attendees.
She said,“In Bhagavad Gita, not once Arjuna said that you must leave everything or you have to leave the kingdom. He was taught to fight and live up to his dharma (religion). And, his dharma was to fight. If you are a student, your dharma is to study. Not that you don't have to earn money through that. Everybody is working towards money.”
She further said that people have only two paths after completing their student life- one is “grihastha (householder)” and the other one is “vairagya (detachment)”. “If you are opting for grihastha, you should have a materialistic life. Buying something is not a problem. It is when things buy you. With money, you can take your country forward. But keep spirituality with you.”
Jaya Kishori received the 'Best Creator Award for Social Change' in March 2024 from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capacity of being an orator. She was praised for blending modernism with spirituality.
