Neeraj Chopra-Himani Mor marriage no surprise, THESE people knew it months ago

Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic gold medalist, married Himani Mor. The couple had an intimate wedding with three days of celebrations taking place in Himachal Pradesh from January 14 to 16. 

Surprisingly the pandit who presided over the wedding was unaware of the groom’s iconic status as an international level sportsman.  

He shared a picture from his wedding on social media and wrote, “I began a new chapter of my life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.” 

Neeraj Chopra is a javelin thrower who won a historic gold in the men’s javelin throw at Tokyo 2020 and followed up with a silver at Paris 2024. His wife Himani Mor is a former tennis player who graduated from sports management last week.  

His marriage came as a surprise to many; however, Reddit users had the idea of their marriage already. A post from social media platform X shows a screenshot of a conversation regarding rumours of Himani Mor likely to marry Neeraj Chopra.  The screenshot shared by a Redditor revealed that redditors knew about their marriage months ago.

“There was a rumour in the sports people’s network here in Haryana that Himani Mor would marry Neeraj Chopra. Did anyone else hear about it?" wrote a Reddit user on the platform’s Tennis community. 

When asked for more information about this rumour, the user replied, “She is the daughter of Meena Mor, who is a tennis coach and is relatively popular in the sports community in Haryana. Himani herself was a national/international level tennis player and lives and trains in the US now. But this is just a rumour I heard at my tennis club." 

For those who may not know, the 25-year-old is a graduate of Miranda House, Delhi University, where she studied Political Science and Physical Education. She also has a brother named Himanshu, who plays tennis.
