Every 12 years, each site hosts the Maha Kumbh, with the next one taking place in Prayagraj from 13th January to 26th February. People believe that bathing in the Sangam during this time can cleanse their sins and bring spiritual benefits, symbolising the search for enlightenment. People from all over the world come here in search of peace and moksha.
One such story has gone viral online. A 30-year-old woman from Uttarakhand, who once lived a modern lifestyle, left it behind to live as a sadhvi (an ascetic life) in search of inner peace. The woman replied that she has been living as a sadhvi for two years, and it brings her the peace she was searching for.
