BIG update on Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, high-speed luxury ride soon, check route, cost and other details

India’s bullet train project, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR), is rapidly progressing and is expected to revolutionise travel in the country. With a total cost of Rs 1,08,000 crore, the ambitious project is set to drastically cut down travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to just over two hours, making it a game-changer for commuters.

The MAHSR project, stretching 508 kilometers, will pass through Gujarat, Maharashtra, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It will feature 12 stations, making it more accessible for passengers. The project is designed with safety in mind, leveraging technology and expertise from Japanese Railways, while also adapting to India’s unique climate and requirements.

As the project nears its completion, here are the key details:

-The bullet train will connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with 12 stations planned along the way.

-The project is being built at a cost of Rs 1,08,000 crore.

-The required land of approximately 1389.5 hectares has already been acquired.

-Significant progress has been made, with 350 km of pier foundation, 316 km of pier construction, 221 km of girder casting, and 190 km of girder launching already completed.

-Work on the 21 km undersea tunnel has also begun.

-The first phase of the project, connecting Surat and Bilimora in South Gujarat, is set to be operational by 2026.
