Ahmedabad to Udaipur in just 4 hours with THIS Vande Bharat train: Check route, timings, stoppages and other details

Indian Railways is all set to introduce the Vande Bharat Express connecting Ahmedabad and Udaipur. Scheduled to begin operations by late January or February, this new train will offer a faster and more comfortable travel experience following the successful electrification of the Ahmedabad-Himmatnagar-Udaipur route.

According to reports, the train will run six days a week, except Tuesdays. Departing from Udaipur at 6:10 am, it will reach Ahmedabad's Asarwa Railway Station by 10:25 am, with a brief two-minute stop at Himmatnagar. The return journey will leave Ahmedabad at 5:45 pm, arriving in Udaipur by 10 pm.

Designed for a premium experience, the train features eight air-conditioned chair car coaches. The total travel time of about four hours marks a significant reduction from the five-hour road journey. This will benefit travellers from the Mewar region, especially those seeking better access to Ahmedabad's airport.

Tourism and travel professionals in Udaipur are optimistic about the train's impact on local tourism and pilgrimage. Attractions like Shrinathji and Eklingji temples are expected to see increased visitors. However, stakeholders have suggested aligning the train’s schedule with hotel check-in times and temple visiting hours for added convenience.

Passengers have also proposed including Daungarpur as an additional stop to serve more travellers.
