Popular YouTuber Mithilesh Backpacker recently came across a disturbing incident involving his Russian wife, Lisa, during their visit to Udaipur with their two-year-old son.
While he was vlogging at a fort in Udaipur, some eve teasers passed by, making derogatory remarks against his wife. Mithilesh was quick to confront them over their humiliating comments.
A video of the incident has been shared on Instagram by 'thetatvaindia'. In the now-viral clip, the YouTuber can be seen slamming the eve teasers over their comments. "6000 INR kisko bola" (Whom did you say 6000 INR).
The term "6000 INR" has acquired derogatory connotations towards Russian women due to its constant use in making offensive jokes.
One of the miscreant replied, "Maine aapko bola"? (Did I say this to you?) Mithilesh further said, "My wife is Russian, so you think you can make such remarks?" Next, he called the security guard and complained to him about the incident.
The YouTuber also demanded a legal action against the eve teaser.
However, media reports have claimed that no action has been taken so far into the matter.
The incident has led to a widespread outrage on social media, with netizens demanding action against the miscreants.
"This "6000 Russian jokes" trend should have never started in the first place. Imagine objectifying women on that", an user wrote.
Another user commented, "I've seen the video and it was so evident that the stranger called out 6000 thinking Mithilesh and his wife wouldn't understand anything."
A third joined, "In the name of stand up comedy big influencers like Harsh gujral, samay Raina, etc taught this generation how to dishonour people wow what a trend in their big shows they dishonour audience family making fun of their mother, father, etc if this is called trend sorry u don't deserve to be a gentleman or gentle women".
