Ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has tied the knot! The two-time Olympic medalist took to Instagram to share the joyful news, posting a heartfelt message for his followers. The post read, “Neeraj (heart emoji) Himani bound by love.”

Although the post didn’t provide many details about the wedding, Neeraj Chopra's announcement has excited fans, as the sporting icon has always kept his personal life relatively private.

In his Instagram post announcing his wedding to Himani, Neeraj Chopra expressed, “Jeevan ke naye adhyay ki shuruaat apne parivaar ke saath ki. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.‘bound by love’.”

Himani Mor, originally from Sonipat, is currently pursuing her studies in the United States. Neeraj's uncle, Bhim, informed PTI that the wedding ceremony occurred in the country, and the newlywed couple has departed for their honeymoon.

"Yes, the marriage took place in India two days back. I can't tell the place where it took place," Bhim told from his village at Khandra near Panipat in Haryana."The girl is from Sonipat and she is studying in the US. They have left the country for honeymoon and I am not aware of the places where they are going. We wanted to keep it like that," said Bhim, who stays with the Olympic double medallist at Khandra.

Neeraj Chopra's wedding comes on the heels of his remarkable Olympic achievements, where he clinched a silver medal in Paris after winning gold in Tokyo in 2021. In the final, Neeraj made an impressive throw of 89.45m on his second attempt, earning him a well-deserved spot on the podium.

After his Olympic triumph, Neeraj also participated in the Diamond League, finishing in second place once again. As the nation rejoices over his marriage news, Neeraj is also making strides off the field. While specifics about his wedding are still under wraps, it has been announced that India will host a prestigious global javelin competition, with Neeraj as the main attraction.

Set for September, this exclusive tournament will feature the top-10 javelin throwers from around the world in an invitation-only event, with Neeraj playing a key role in its organization. Together with prominent partners like JSW and other international collaborators, Neeraj is dedicated to enhancing the profile of sports in India. His initiatives include pushing for August 7 to be recognized as 'National Javelin Day,' celebrating his historic gold medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
