'Believe it or not': Ram Kapoor opens up on 55 Kg weight loss transformation in 18 months

Ram Kapoor, the popular actor, has shared an inspiring story of how he lost 55 kg in 18 months. The 51-year-old actor explained how he made the change through healthy eating, exercise, and a shift in his lifestyle.

Ram revealed that he didn’t use surgery or weight loss drugs, which many people have speculated about in recent years. Instead, he focused on changing his habits and mindset. "It was about a complete mental and physical reset," he said, adding that fitness isn’t just about numbers on a scale but about feeling strong, energetic, and healthy. "Staying fit is a constant work in progress," he added, feeling like his 25-year-old self again and now able to walk for 12 hours without stopping.

Before starting his transformation, Ram weighed 140 kg while working on Neeyat and Jubilee. His size suited his roles, but he was unhealthy at the time, struggling with diabetes, a foot injury, and breathlessness from walking short distances. He realized he couldn’t continue this way and wanted to set a good example for his children. “I have two children, and I felt the need to prioritise my health,” he said.

In the past six months, Ram has lost 55 kg and now weighs 85 kg. This transformation, he says, is personal and about making a lasting change, not a quick fix. "It’s not about following a diet for a few months, it’s about changing who you are as a person," he explained.

Ram also spoke about the difficulties of losing weight in your 50s, with slower metabolism and less muscle mass. But he focused on making long-term changes, such as adjusting his eating habits, sleeping better, exercising, staying hydrated, and using fasting intervals.
