Highlighting Mukesh Ambani's role in realising Dhirubhai's vision of establishing the world's largest grassroots refinery in Jamnagar, she termed it his Shraddha Bhoomi—a place of devotion and respect.
Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, expressed a deep emotional connection to Jamnagar while celebrating the 25th anniversary of the iconic Jamnagar Refinery. She described Jamnagar as the "soul of Reliance," emphasising its significance in the family's legacy.
During her address at the event, Nita reflected on how Jamnagar has shaped the journey of Reliance and its importance to family members, including her mother-in-law, Kokilaben Ambani. "For Kokila Mummy, this is her Janmabhoomi—the land of her birth, representing her roots and values. She is with us today and this achievement is possible only because of her blessings," she stated.
Nita also paid tribute to her late father-in-law Dhirubhai Ambani, the visionary founder of Reliance, referring to Jamnagar as his Karmabhoomi, or the land where he dedicated himself to his dreams. She noted that the previous day marked Dhirubhai's 92nd birthday and expressed confidence that he was blessing everyone gathered in Jamnagar.
Highlighting Mukesh Ambani's role in realising Dhirubhai's vision of establishing the world's largest grassroots refinery in Jamnagar, she termed it his Shraddha Bhoomi—a place of devotion and respect.
Furthermore, Nita acknowledged the younger generation's connection to Jamnagar, particularly Anant Ambani, calling it his Sewa Bhoomi—the land of service and compassion, which reflects his commitment to societal contributions.
The celebration not only commemorated a significant milestone for the Jamnagar Refinery but also reinforced the Ambani family's enduring bond with a region that has played a crucial role in shaping Reliance's legacy. The refinery, which began operations on December 28, 1999, has evolved into a symbol of India's industrial capabilities and innovation.
Despite initial skepticism from experts regarding the feasibility of establishing such a large refinery in a barren area with limited infrastructure, Dhirubhai Ambani's determination led to its completion in just 33 months. Today, the Jamnagar refinery complex stands as one of the largest globally and is recognized for its advanced refining technology and contributions to India's energy security.
