One terrorist was killed in the Uri Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation by the Indian Army. The operation, named 'Bajrang,' was initiated on June 22 following specific intelligence inputs.

The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army shared this development on the social media platform X, stating, "One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; operations are continuing.” The identity of the killed infiltrator has not been disclosed yet, and the operation is still active with more updates expected as the situation progresses.

The Uri Sector, located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, is a critical area for Indian security operations due to frequent skirmishes and infiltration attempts. Security forces have been vigilant in this region to prevent such incidents.

On Saturday, security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the LoC in the Uri sector after noticing suspicious movement in the Gohallan area, according to PTI reports. When challenged by the Army, the militants opened fire, which led to a retaliatory response from the security forces.

Earlier this week, in a separate incident, two Pakistani terrorists associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir. During this encounter, two security personnel were also injured. This incident occurred in the Hadipura village of the Rafiabad area.

On Wednesday, specific intelligence was received from the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) indicating that two terrorists were hiding in a house in Hadipura village. The Indian Army, JKP, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a joint operation, quickly surrounding the area.

The two terrorists killed in this operation were identified as Usman and Umar, both Pakistani nationals associated with LeT. Brigadier Deepak Mohan, Commander of the 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, informed reporters in Rafiabad about this successful operation, emphasizing that the elimination of these terrorists is a significant achievement for the security forces.
