Good news for Delhi-NCR commuters: Travelling from Greater Noida to Faridabad to get easier with THIS bridge

Good news for daily commuters going from Greater Noida to Faridabad and Gurgaon: Travel between Greater Noida and Faridabad is set to become easier. The two areas will be linked through the Manjhawali Bridge in Faridabad. However, a one-kilometre-long road needs to be built to complete the connection. Construction has been delayed for years because farmers have not received compensation for their land. Now, the district administration has identified 40 affected farmers and started the process of distributing Rs 25 crore in compensation.

The Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and Eastern Peripheral Highway will all be connected by this bridge.

The Faridabad road project is almost finished, and cars are already using it. There is an unpaved road in Greater Noida that runs through fields for about a kilometre. The road eventually leads to Faridabad after passing via Jasana and Nachauli. While some sections of the road are already built, others have short-distance traffic on one side. Some portions are still under construction.

An official from the district administration said the bridge over the Yamuna River near Manjhawali village on the Haryana border is finished, but the road from Atta Gujran village in Greater Noida is incomplete, preventing smooth traffic flow.

A one-kilometre road needs to be built to connect the Manjhawali Bridge to Greater Noida. This requires 6.5 hectares of land, but a land dispute has stalled work for 10 years. The administration has prepared a list of 40 farmers eligible for compensation at a rate of Rs 3,720 per square metre, totaling Rs 25 crore.

Road construction is expected to begin soon after the compensation is distributed. ADM LA Bachchu Singh said an agreement has been reached with the farmers, and payments will be made shortly.

The delay in road construction has caused trouble for commuters. People are using the bridge with their cars to cross the unfinished road to reach Faridabad soon, which increases the chance of an accident. Rain or negligence can cause vehicles to slip on the unpaved section.

Currently, people from Faridabad travel to Greater Noida via Delhi or Noida. The bridge over the Yamuna River in Mohana village also connects some areas, but once the road to the Manjhawali Bridge is completed, people will be able to reach Greater Noida directly in 30 minutes.

This improved route will especially benefit those commuting from Faridabad to Greater Noida for work or students attending colleges in the area.
