  Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT Branch

  It said, "Post terror attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, 2025 some social media influencers and social media platforms in the country seem to be working against the interest of the country which is likely to incite violence."

  The committee requests the Ministry of Electronics and IT and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to provide the contemplated action taken to ban such platforms under IT Act 2000 and ‘Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 by 8 May, 2025.

  Mock drills for effective civil defence on May 7

  The measures to be undertaken include operationalisation of Air Raid Warning Sirens and training of civilians, students,etc on the civil defence aspects to protect themselves in the event of a hostile attack.
  The sources said measures also include the provision of crash blackout measures, provision for early camouflaging of vital installations and updation of the evacuation plan and its rehearsal.
