Amid cold weather and dense fog, millions of devotees are gathered at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to take holy dip.
Devotees continue to arrive at Triveni Sangam on the third day of the 45-day long Mahakumbh mela that began on 13th January, Paush Purnima.
Meanwhile, amid cold weather and dense fog, millions of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Tuesday to participate in the sacred ritual known as “Amrit Snan” during the Makar Sankranti festival. Officials from Uttar Pradesh reported that more than one crore devotees took part in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on this auspicious day.
Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar said that instructions were given to use all modern technologies and AI tools for crowd and traffic management, underwater monitoring, and fire fighting. “Everything is under control,” he said.
Traffic Police authorities have made elaborate arrangements and implemented a detailed plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement and safety for devotees visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela.
Notably, the entry route to the Sangam Mela area will be through Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Black Road), while the exit route will be via Triveni Marg. During the major bathing festivals, the Akshayavat Darshan will remain closed for visitors.
This year, Maha Kumbh, the largest spiritual gathering in the world, has become more special because of the rare celestial alignment that occurs only once in 144 years.
The Maha Kumbh-2025, which is Poorna Kumbh will take place till February 26, 2025. Key 'snan' dates include January 14 (Makar Sankranti - First Shahi Snan), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya - Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami - Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
