Tamil actor Jayam Ravi urges fans to address him by his birth name Ravi Mohan, here's why

Tamil actor Jayam Ravi on Monday released a statement on his social media urging everyone to address him by his birth name Ravi Mohan hereafter. He announced his decision to go by a new name, mentioning that it truly resonates with his personal and professional ‘aspirations and identity.’ In addition to this, he also announced the launch of his own production house named Ravi Mohan Studios.

 “Cinema is/has always been my greatest passion and the foundation of my career, a world that has shaped who I am today. As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with immense gratitude for the opportunities, love, and support that cinema and all of you have given me. I look forward to extending my support to the industry that gave me life, love, and purpose,” read a part of his statement on X(formerly known as Twitter).

Marking a new chapter in his career, Ravi unveiled ‘Ravi Mohan Studios’, a production house committed to crafting and showcasing stories that inspire, captivate, and resonate with global audiences. Furthermore, he announced the transformation of his fan clubs into the Ravi Mohan Fans Foundation, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to supporting those in need.

“To pursue my unwavering passion for cinema, I am delighted to announce the launch of ‘Ravi Mohan Studios’, a production house dedicated to discovering and championing compelling narratives that inspire, captivate, and resonate with audiences worldwide. This venture represents my commitment to nurturing emerging talent and bringing profound, meaningful stories to Cinema,” he wrote. 

Meanwhile, Ravi earlier made headlines when he confirmed splitting up with wife Aarti after years of marriage. The estranged couple has two sons Aarav and Aayan. In terms of work, the actor was last seen in Siren and Brother. He will next be seen in Kadhalika Neramillai, set to release on January 14, 2025.
