Sobhita Dhulipala shares romantic engagement photos with Naga Chaitanya: 'Our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain'
Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got engaged on Thursday, August 8. Chaitanya, who is the son on superstar Nagarjuna, was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

A day after Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's engagement, the actress has shared photos from the traditional ceremony in a joint post with the actor on Instagram. The two look adorable and extremely happy in the romantic pictures. While Sobhita is seen in a pink saree, Chaitanya is seen in a silk kurta in the photos.
Along with the photos, the Ponniyin Selvan actress wrote, "What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting. - From Kurunthogai, translated by A K Ramanujan." Kuranthogai is a classical Tamil poetic work in the Sangam literature.
Reacting to their engagement photos, director Zoya Akhtar wrote, "Congratulations", while fashion designer and filmmaker Manish Malhotra also dropped several red heart emojis. Zoya has collaborated with Sobhita in the Amazon Prime Video series Made In Heaven, whose first two seasons dropped in 2019 and 2023.
Earlier on Thursday, Chaitanya's superstar father Nagarjuna had shared the first photos from his engagement on his X (formerly Twitter) account. Sharing the pictures, he had written "We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 AM!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8. A beginning of infinite love."
Naga Chaitanya was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. They had tied the knot in 2017 and announced their separation after four years in 2021. The two actors got divorced in the same year. Chaitanya and Samantha have starred together in several films including Ye Maaya Chesave, Manam, Autonagar Surya, and Majili.
The Laal Singh Chaddha actor and The Night Manager actress had reportedly started dating in 2022 and many of their vacation photos from Europe had surfaced on the internet in the last two years. But, the two of them never spoke about or confirmed their relaionship until their engagement.
