Ram Gopal Varma slams Game Changer makers for 'fraud' box office numbers: 'Who’s behind this humiliating insult'
Ram Gopal Varma said that such fraud claims by Game Changer undermines the real successes from South such as Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2, and KGF 2 among others.

Ram Gopal Varma has slammed the makers of Game Changer for allegedly inflating their box office numbers. The makers of the movie had reported its opening day figures as Rs 186 crore gross worldwide, while several trade portals including Sacnilk had reported that Game Changer had earned Rs 86 crore gross worldwide on its first day of release.
The Rs 100 crore difference in the box office collections of Game Changer was called out by several trade analysts on social media. Now, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has openly criticised the makers for the same. He said that such fraud practices will udermine the actual success stories from south such as Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and Kantara.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the Satya director wrote, "If SS Rajamouli (Baahubali 2 director )and Sukumar (Pushpa 2 director) sky rocketed Telugu cinema in real time collections into a fantastically stratospheric heights thereby sending legitimate shock waves into Bollywood, the people behind Game Changer succeeded in proving that the south is much more FANTASTIC in being a FRAUD. I truly don’t know who's behind this highly humiliating disgracing insult of undermining the extraordinary achievements of south thanks to Baahubali, RRR, KGF 2, Kantara etc and all of their achievements will be now in doubt because of Game Changer claims."

Ram Gopal Varma said that the producer Dil Raju, who has banrolled Game Changer under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, couldn't be behind this fraud as he added, "I don't know who’s behind this unbelievably naive lies, but for sure it can't be producer Dil Raju because he is a truly grounded realist and he’s incapable of the fraud that is being committed."
Game Changer is headlined by Ram Charan in a double role and also stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, and Jayaram. The political action thriller, directed by Shankar, is facing stiff competition from the other two Telugu releases this week, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
