Kareena Kapoor breaks silence on Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident, says 'I saw him attack...'

Mumbai Police apprehended a man in Thane for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. The incident occurred on Thursday, leaving Khan with multiple stab wounds. The actor suffered severe injuries, including a spinal fluid leak after knife shards lodged in his spine. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Recalling the terrifying incident, Khan’s wife and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan said she witnessed the intruder repeatedly stabbing Saif. "The attacker was extremely aggressive," she said. "Saif was trying to protect our children, Taimur and Jeh. When the attacker couldn't reach Jeh, he stabbed Saif multiple times,” she said in a statement to the Bandra Police. 

Kareena emphasized that the attacker fled without taking any valuables. Following the incident, she sought refuge at her sister Karisma's house, while Saif underwent surgery. "I was terrified, so Karisma took me to her house," she explained.

Saif Ali Khan was brutally stabbed six times by an intruder at his 11th-floor residence in Mumbai's Satguru Sharan building. The assailant, identified as Vijay Das, allegedly entered the premises with the intention of burglarizing. Das, a waiter at a local restaurant, has confessed to committing the crime, according to the Mumbai Police. 

Initially, the accused provided a false identity, claiming his name was Vijay Das. However, during further interrogation, he revealed his true name to be Mohammed Sajjad, according to the police.

The police have scheduled a press briefing to share updates on the investigation into the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. The briefing will take place at the DCP Zone IX office at 9:00 a.m. today.

Meanwhile, Khan is receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital and his post-surgery recovery is progressing well. Sources indicate that he is likely to be discharged within the next couple of days.
